MEET CHRIS
My name is Chris, and I've been living with kidney disease since I was a kid.
For most of my life, I quietly carried it... the appointments, the tests, and the uncertainty of knowing my kidneys were slowly failing. I tried not to let it define me.
In 2018, I learned I carry a rare genetic condition that affects kidney function. Doctors told me only about 20% of people with this gene ever experience kidney failure.
I'm part of that 20%.
A biopsy confirmed the damage is progressive. There is no cure. The best chance I have to live a longer, healthier life is a kidney transplant. Asking for help like this isn't easy. It takes humility to say I can't do this alone.
A living donor could give me something medicine can't, time. More moments with my family. More ordinary days. More life without constant medical fear.
